The vision behind Roshan Pakistan Foundation comes from the passion of Humaira Bachal — a woman who turned challenges into change. With an unwavering belief in education, health, and sustainability, she has dedicated her life to empowering communities and creating lasting impact across Pakistan.
"Education is a basic need and a fundamental right for every human being."
Born and raised in Karachi’s underprivileged area, Humaira Bachal overcame social opposition to pursue education. Her mother supported her studies by sewing and selling wood, enabling her to complete matriculation in 2004.
At just 13, she began teaching children in her neighborhood. Despite limited resources, she continued advocating for girls’ education and opened her first home-based school.
Her dedication led to the establishment of the Dream Model Street School under The Dream Foundation Trust in 2009, marking a milestone in community education.
Despite challenges, Humaira expanded her mission with global support. Today, her initiative educates over 1,200 students with 30+ volunteer teachers.
Recognized internationally, Humaira’s mission now aims to replicate her school model across slums in Pakistan and establish a university for underprivileged youth.
